A few weeks past I took a look at the HTC One (M8) and was let down a bit by HTC (same camera, long and slippery device). I have now exhausted a couple weeks with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and again I am a bit let down by an Android manufacturer. The Galaxy S5 is a very good smartphone and millions will purchase one, but I wanted more from the device and will be sticking with my custom Moto X for now.
Things haven't vary much from the Galaxy S4 but Samsung, as usual, has packed the Galaxy S5 with features. However, a lot are some unnecessary. The heart rate monitor is a prime example and while the fingermark scanner is cool, it's troublesome to use. There is some top end hardware here, expressly the screen, but nothing which stands out in a active and competitory market. A key element is that the design of the Galaxy S5 falls short. It's plastic, face like every other Samsung handset and doesn't feeling premium. Galaxy S4 users needn't upgrade and anyone looking for a flagship smartphone can get correct elsewhere.
